Pagani has unveiled the all-new Huayra R Evo, a new open-top Hypercar that pushes the boundaries of performance even further. The hypercar is powered by a V12 engine that produces 900 horsepower at 8,750 rpm with a maximum torque of 770 Nm. Other enhancements include improved aerodynamics, an enhanced braking system, and high-performance Pirelli P Zero Slick tires which ensure maximum control on the road. Following the launch of the Huayra R in 2021, Pagani announced the beginning of the new Arte In Pista program, a rich calendar of personalized events allowing owners of the new model, alongside the Zonda R and Zonda Revolucion to take their supercars to its highest level of performance.

According to Pagani Founder and Chief Designer Horacio Pagani, “The inspiration for the design of the Huayra R Evo struck me during a Formula Indy race in Nashville: as I observed the single-seater cars with their Aeroscreens, the idea of creating a car with protective polycarbonate surfaces and the option to remove the two roof panels to be fully immersed in the allure of the air and the captivating sound of the engine, dawned on me. From that moment on, we set out with the goal of creating a beautiful car, subjective as that term may be, harmonious in its lines and strong in its character. The final result is a true descendant of the Huayra R, one of the cars our customers love the most.

We also drew inspiration from the elegance of Le Mans cars that graced the tracks in the ’60s and ’70s, including the swift ‘codalunga’ long-tail prototypes. With these stylistic foundations, we meticulously addressed aerodynamics, design, and every minute detail, adhering to the high standards synonymous with Pagani Automobili and the expectations of our discerning customers. This fascinating project engaged the entire team for approximately two years, involving extensive testing and participation in Arte in Pista events on track. We gathered valuable insights from our customers, collaborating closely with longstanding partners such as Pirelli and Brembo to develop top-tier components for a high-performance and distinctive vehicle like the Huayra R Evo”.

The design

The front of the hypercar features a compact and aerodynamically efficient layout through a sophisticated system of air ducts to manage the optimal distribution of cooling required for the brake discs, calipers, and water radiator. Pagani integrated this ducting system with the support of a splitter that extends forward by 101 mm. Another highlight at the front is the double rows of flicks on the hood that contribute to the aerodynamic load on the front axle, essential for maximum control during cornering.

On both sides are the beltline and the shaped side sills that enhance the perception of lightness and efficiency. This gives rise to a flow system essential for functionality in extreme conditions. They represent a complex fusion of shapes and surfaces that, on one hand, allows the release of air and heat accumulated in the front wheel arches, and on the other hand, contributes to generating an airflow that aerodynamically cleanses the rear engine compartment.

The all-new Pagani Huayra R Evo’s overall body design incorporates cutting-edge Class A Carbon fiber which is specially developed for the Utopia with a keen focus on aesthetic applications. This carbon fiber enhances both visual appearance and structural performance which has resulted in weight reduction of the hypercar.

Engine, transmission, and performance

The new Pagani Huayra R Evo is powered by an enhanced V-12-R Evo engine that delivers 900 horsepower (662 kW) at 8,750 rpm with a maximum torque output of 770 Nm, which is directly available from 5,800 to 8,200 rpm. Pagani and HWA AG engineers did not solely focus on increasing the power output, they also intervened in crucial components such as the intake manifold. The intake manifold has been optimized with a new trumpet design and a new camshaft to enhance the deliberate aspiration process.

The engineers also recalibrated the control unit as well as redesigned the exhaust system to enhance performance and deliver a distinctive sound experience.

Power generated by the V-12 engine is sent to the wheels via the six-speed sequential gearbox design in collaboration with HWA AG. Engineers didn’t increase the power output only, they also worked on the comfort of the occupants and their maximum safety. Pagani equipped the chassis of the hypercar with a range of safety equipment that included a safety cage and headrest structure as well as other safety systems.

Six-point harnesses and seats covered in fireproof material, whose special Ener-Core EC 50 foam padding ensures an optimal driving position is standard on the hypercar. The new co*ckpit ensures full frontal visibility and introduces a touch of uncommon elegance in track cars: from the inside, lifting the gaze, a play of sinuous lines seamlessly integrates onto the roof structure. Engineers made significant innovations to the system, the innovation includes the integration of a heave damper, a third hydraulic element that separates the management of the car body heights from independent dampers of the four wheels.

The updated suspension system comes with a double-wishbone suspension made of forged aluminum alloy, helical springs, and electronically controlled active shock absorbers. This combo provides unprecedented driving precision.

The new CCM-R Braking system

Standard on the Pagani Huayra R Evo is the brand new CCM-R self-ventilated carbon-ceramic discs paired with bespoke racing pads. At the front of the hypercar is a new braking system that features a 100% increase in the surface of exchange zones in the discs, thanks to a double line of slotted holes. The new system improves disc durability and stability by reducing the thermal power absorbed by the pad.

Also available on the CCM-Rs is the advanced technology which have significant advantages in terms of thermal conductivity and maximum braking power. The new braking system is jointly produced by Pagani Automobili and Brembo.

Tires and wheels

The new Huayra R Evo runs on brand new P Zero Slick tires, 280/680R19 in the front and 345/725R20 in the rear, resulting from a comprehensive development process starting from the structure to withstand demanding dynamic loads. Pagani increased the tread width to offer improved durability under intense usage conditions.
