  8. Dianne Manns says:

These recipes sound really good!!! I am so glad to have stumbled onto your website/blog this morning!!! I have also shared w/ my 3 sisters and my one brother. :-)

  9. Dianne Manns says:

I am going to try this one(Philly Cheese Steak) tomorrow for dinner!!

  10. Dianne Manns says:

Is this recipe for a HALF lbs of meat or ONE & A HALF lbs ? My hubby bought 3 lbs of meet...how long should I cook??

  11. Six Sisters says:

The recipe calls for 1 and 1/2 pounds of meat. If you are planning on cooking all 3 pounds, that is double what the recipe calls for, so you will need to double the other crock pot ingredients. Cook close to the same amount of time. May need to add about an hour. Keep checking it so it doesn't burn.

  12. Leslie Seror says:

I've got this in the crockpot now. However, our market only had larger cuts of meat available. So I have a little over 2 lbs cooking right now...way too much for our little family. Do you think this would freeze well after it's cooked? Thanks for the fantastic recipes.

  13. Six Sisters says:

This meat will freeze great! -The Six Sisters

  14. Roberta Disman says:

Love your website. Have tried a number of your dishes and they were great!

  15. Jessie C says:

I made this last night. YUM, YUM, YUM. Easy and so good. It's definitely going in my rotation!

  16. Catherine says:

How would you alter this recipe for a 3-4 qt crock pot?

  17. Cyd says:

You shouldn't have to alter this recipe much if it all fits in the crock pot well.

  18. Sue Bray says:

Your recipes sound very inviting but I have one concern, none of your recipes states what setting on your crock pot, when they range from warm to high. This would influence the cooking time espically if you are a first time cook.

  19. Cyd says:

Most of our slow cooker recipes give you 2 cooking options, a set number of cooking hours on low or a set number of cooking hours on high. It's in the directions.

  20. Bobby says:

Can this cook longer than 8 hours? I work at least 9 hour days.

  21. Cyd says:

You should be fine with 9 hours. Just be sure it's on low.

  22. Kristen klingler says:

Have you ever cooked the roast whole and shredded after cooking?

  23. Alicia says:

Another delicious recipe! Thank you very much! We loved it!!!

  24. Lisa says:

im such a beginner cook, what type of onion?

  25. Cyd says:

A yellow onion works great in this recipe!

  26. Corisa says:

What italian dressing mix is used? All i can find is italian dressing mix for salads?

  27. Cyd says:

That is the dressing mix you need! You have the right one!

  28. Bill says:

I tried this last night and the family absolutely loved it. What I noticed, was that the onions and peppers were tender and not mushy. I think the Italian Dressing mix is a great idea. I'll be putting this on my blog for sure.

  29. kim says:

Hi, this meal sounds great. Which type of round steak do you use? Top? Is it nice and tender?

  30. Cyd says:

Top will work great. But really any type of round steak will be fine.

  31. Tawnya says:

I do not have an Italian dressing packet. Can i sub with reg dressing, from the bottle, and if so..how much?

  32. Cyd says:

Hi Tawnya, The italian seasoning adds a delicious flavor to these sandwiches. You could add Italian dressing for some flavor. Maybe start with a little over 1/8 of a cup. You could always add more as it's cooking if you feel it needs more flavor. Then I would add another 1/8 of a cup.

  33. Dakota says:

I made this today, however, there was still a lot of liquid in the crockpot after 8 hours on low. Is that normal?

  34. Cyd says:

Yes, just dish it out with a slotted spoon.

  35. Cici says:

I have made this for my family a few times and we almost never have leftovers after a triple batch or so. We range from 8 to 60 so this is wonderful, my kids and my dad are picky and dont complain but usually ask for more. Thank you so much.

  36. Robin Hoode says:

Am I the only one who thinks it important for this recipe to suggest the size of the beef slices to use? Just saying to "cut the meat into strips" is lacking the specificity that is needed for trying to duplicate your directions.Has anybody actually prepared this recipe ? Could you please post back with what size strips you used? Thank you!

  37. Cyd says:

The thickness can vary because it cooks in the slow cooker all day and comes out very tender. So if you like thicker strips, that will work great. If you like your Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches with thin meat, that works great too. We like it sliced about 1/4 to 1/3 inch thick.

  38. Amy says:

I prepared a freezer meal earlier in March using tips from the corresponding YouTube video and from emailing SSS directly :). As suggested, I used the 24 oz. bag of John Soules Beef Fajitas and I purchased it from the freezer section at Walmart. I put all ingredients (except cheese and bread, of course) in a gallon-sized freezer Ziploc bag. I placed sealed bag on a quarter sheet pan and placed in freezer. (I later removed the pan; it just helps initially with freezing 'flat'). A few weeks later, when I was ready to use it, I sprayed my 6-qt. slow cooker with cooking spray. I removed the frozen contents of the Ziploc bag (DID NOT THAW) and placed in slow cooker (it was a solid chunk and I just made a note to go back after a half hour or so to break up into chunks). I then cooked for 4 hours on LOW. This was definitely the best 'freezer meal' we've tried as a family. My husband loved it. My kids found the beef fajitas to be pretty spicy but it was still really good. It was a fun twist on the typical philly cheesesteak recipe and great freezer meal to have on hand.

  39. Cyd says:

Thanks Amy for leaving a comment on the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. So glad they turned out well as a freezer meal.

  40. Jamie says:

I’m confused, in the YouTube video that corresponds with this recipe, you said to cook it for 3-4 hours on LOW. But this recipe says 3-4 hours on HIGH. Which is it?

  41. Momma Cyd says:

The Fajita meat we used was precooked. So then it only needs 3-4 hours on low. But if it hasn't been cooked, follow the cooking directions on the website recipe. Sorry about the confusion.

  42. Melis says:

Just made this for dinner last night using the beef fajitas mentioned on six sisters stuff YouTube video and it was DELICIOUS!!! Plus I used my instant pot as mentioned on the video as well. So good!!

  43. Momma Cyd says:

Thanks for sharing. We love to hear this! Sounds delicious!!

  44. Dawn says:

You can find a home made dry Italian dressing mix on the web. Great use up for spices in your pantry.
