Liquipedia:Notability Guidelines (2024)

Please note that inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators.

Sadly, not everything can be added to the wiki. We want all our pages to be as up-to-date as possible and to meet our quality standards in general. That is made harder the more pages are created, not to mention additional factors, such as the fact that lower ranked teams tend to not have social media where they announce transfers, and so on.

Now, these are not non-negotiable. This wiki contains coverage of certain teams, players and scenes that do not actually meet our guidelines, yet we allow them because there is an active volunteer(s) that keeps those pages of high-quality. This however does not mean that we will allow you to create a page for your team just because you say you will keep it up to date. On the other hand, if you were to be highly interested in, say, keeping the Spanish national scene up to date, then go ahead! In the cases where this is not the case however, all of this means we have to prioritise: we try to keep our coverage to just the top and the sub-top tier of competitive Apex Legends as defined by the guidelines below. Any pages that do not meet these guidelines will not be deleted, but will be moved to your user space.

If you disagree with the decision for a certain page, please do come chat in our Discord.

Note: Pages created before 13th October, 2022, were following different guidelines. Thus this kind of pages may not be following current guidelines.Note2: Page creation will ultimately be always at administrators discretion.

Guidelines[edit]

Notability Points[edit]

The points can be received by tournament placements as follows:

Top 3Top 5Top 10Top 20Top 30Any
S-Tier25
A-Tier10521
B-Tier521
Small Region B-Tier521
C-Tier21
D-Tier1
  • Show Matches and Miscellaneous tournaments won't count any point.
  • The small region is depend on administrator's judgement, usually means internal tournaments or regions like MEA or ALGS merged regions (ex: OCE/KR).
  • You can check how many points a player/coach or team has earned through the Notability Checker.
    • Note for players who have played under different names, their points may be tied to the specific name they played under.

Players and Coaches[edit]

Who and what to add?[edit]

If the player/analyst/coach fulfills one of the following:

  • Results: Players/analysts/coaches will need 25 notability points to be considered for page creation.
    • Players in a 20-24 point range can be brought up for discussion.
  • Sponsored: If the player/analyst/coach is a notable member of a major organization.
  • ALGS Pro League (Year 3 and onwards): If the player/analyst/coach played 2 or more rounds in the ALGS Pro League.

To create a new player page, follow the Player Template.

Teams[edit]

To create a team page or not to create?[edit]

If the team fulfills one of the following:

  • Well-Established Organization: The team is a well-established esports organization with highly notable results in other esports, preferably with pages on the other Liquipedia wikis as well;

Or

  • Notable players: The teams active roster must have two players with player pages. while ALSO:
      • Is attending an S or A-Tier event
      • Has attended 5 B-tier events
      • Has attended 7 C-Tier events
      • Has attended 12 D-Tier events
    • The tournament attendancies have to be consecutively as a core of 3, if roster changes are made the counter resets.
      • A regular substition counts as a pause, so it does not award anything, but it also doesn't reset the counter
    • There are (public) sources pointing towards their formation and/or roster changes.

Then a team page is warranted.

To create a new team page, you can use our Team page tutorial.

Leagues[edit]

Leagues and tournaments with a cash prize of at least $1,000 should be added right away for documentary purposes. But this doesn't mean tournaments with prize pool lower then $1,000 should not be made, feel free to make the page if you have enough information. However, as qualifier tournaments also give notability points, so it's not recommended to make page for qualifier of D-Tier tournaments.

To create a new tournament page, you can follow our Tournament tutorial.

Broadcast Talent[edit]

Broadcast Talent (Casters, Analysts, Observers, Producers, etc) may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the primary requirement below. If your chosen caster fits this, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki. If they do not surpass the following threshold of notability then they need to have some more events done before a page can be made.

  • If the broadcast talent has worked on 6 or more events.
    • Guest appearances count as a half. (So if a person is only a guest, they'd need to be featured on 12 events)

Legends[edit]

We try to accumulate as much information about Legends as possible. Legends pages include their information and skills.

User pages[edit]

Completely optional, but make your userpage a good indication of who you are! Feel free to be friendly or use some Userboxes to spruce things up. You can access your userboxes at your username shown top right. The drop down will show User option to access the Userbox.
