High Vibrational Living for Health, Healing, & Creative Focus + Maple Broccolini Salad with Wasabi Cashew Cream Recipe (1)

Hi lovely creatives! I’m so honored to be part of Local Milk’s community! My name is Christina Soeberg. I’m the founder of the blog Thyme & Emerald, and I aim to inspire others to explore high vibrational living. I shed light on the art of detoxification and how we can empower ourselves to transform our health for the better. I’m based in Copenhagen with my daughter Hope.

Today I’m sharing my story of how I went from a fast-paced lifestyle as a fashion designer to being bedridden for years and how adopting a holistic approach to my health transformed me both physically and emotionally.

My Journey to Healing

Years ago, I was at a healing retreat overlooking the rural jungle of Costa Rica. It was a moment of pure magic! I knew it was the beginning of a deep healing journey. In the years before, I had been bedridden and was not able to walk for months. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Somehow I knew there was more to the story, and that I could find answers and regain my life if I let my curious mind stay open and lead the way. I immersed myself in the world of raw living foods and herbal wisdom to support this process, and in time I noticed incredible results in my healing. Soon I was walking again, traveling, and a few years later giving birth to my little girl.

My entire perspective of life had drastically turned around, and it was like a new dimension to the world I knew had surfaced, another world that I had been longing for my entire life without knowing what it entailed. I was so excited about diving deep into this new high vibrational lifestyle and was eager to educate myself further.

What Is High Vibrational Living?

I believe what determines our health comes down to a few themes: the thoughts we think, the food we eat (or do not eat), and the joy and love we feel daily towards ourselves and others. This requires patience and a lot of unlearning, peeling layers off the ugly, while slowly adopting new habits that nourish us both physically and emotionally.

We are all made of energy so we require energy in the form of food, air, and water for sustenance and good health. We also require an environment and thoughts made up of good, positive, vibrational energy. We can raise our energy vibration and better connect to ourselves, others, and nature by eating highly-nutritious energetic foods and eliminating unhealthy thoughts and relationships.

Nurturing our health and emotional well-being is a continuous practice, a daily commitment of wanting to be the best version of ourselves. We sometimes fall, and then we get up. It’s not a sprint but a life-long intimate journey navigating our light and shadows. It takes courage to change the old with the new while being compassionate and loving towards ourselves and where we are at.

Detoxification: An Art Not a Trend

Detoxification is a long term health investment. Understanding the art of detoxification can have a profound impact on our quality of life. While you are likely familiar with the detox practice of a few days juice cleansing, getting to know the depths of detoxification gives a much broader perspective of why illness occurs and how we can take better care of our health, creating a foundation for greater quality of life. So many people are suffering in silence, yet there is so much that can be done to heal or significantly improve your health.

Most humans are chronically dehydrated, and lifestyle-related illnesses are an epidemic worldwide. Incorporating more raw, living foods on a daily basis hydrates our cells in the body and supports its natural ability to regenerate and restore balance. Our body is a miraculous vehicle that works around the clock to restore and release anything unwanted or threatening. We simply need to take a step back and learn to understand the principles behind supporting this process.

Building a Healthy Relationship With Food

Raw, living foods have a higher vibration than cooked, processed foods. As much as I believe it’s the key to restoring our health, I also believe in finding a balance that works for our unique life history. As we are always in a flow of new seasons of life and ever-evolving students of this lifetime, we don’t have to live dogmatically. When we bring more awareness to our habits and eating from an intuitive space, we will realize that many foods are more of a “mind experience.”

I feel my absolute best when I eat raw, living foods combined with some simple, cooked plant foods. With my personal journey living with a chronic condition for years that left me bedbound, I now know that this lifestyle created miracles for my healing process. Simplicity and consistency are essential for healing.

The Importance of Our Emotional Body

In the next chapter of my healing journey, I was challenged to learn how to create a healthy emotional environment around me. Our mind and emotional state both have a major impact on our physical health. I realized that I had a lot of emotional stress going on in my life at that time, and healing entails a lot more than changing the foods we eat. Everything from work-related stress, toxic people, and unhealthy relationships were no longer an option, which meant reprogramming a life-long dedication to my good-girl behavior and co-dependent tendencies inherited from my family line.

I had to deepen my inner work and build awareness of the things in my life that were bringing energy and becoming very selective of what I wanted to surround myself with; people, environments, energies. When we heighten our consciousness, we can more easily make choices for ourselves that protect and nurture our health and well-being.

My Daily Routine for Healing & Creative Focus

I believe it’s crucial to commit to a daily routine to improve or maintain our physical and emotional well-being. When we find our unique routine, we lay the foundation for more creativity and productivity in whatever we do in life. We need to slow down and rest to able to serve and inspire. We must withdraw from the noise to quiet the mind and the worries.

  • Fresh Juice: One or two a day; pure celery, a green juice with fresh herbs or a watermelon juice.
  • Meditation: 30-60 minutes a day to quiet the mind and bring calming energy. Even a 10 minute, short meditation can impact your day positively. Finding a meditation style that works for your lifestyle and routine can have a positive impact on our well-being and creativity.
  • Vibrant Eating: Adding in abundant salads with vibrant colors and different textures. Salad dressings are crucial to make a simple salad turn out pleasurable and tasty. Create a few favorite dressings with nuts or seeds flavored with lots of herbs and spices.
  • Herbal supplements: Hemp/CBD oil, B12, Shilajit, and a variation of adaptogen herbs are my staple quality supplements. Some of my favorite brands are ©cymbiotika and @superfeast.
  • Invest in Self-Love: Spend time with yourself and get to know the person behind the stories. Strive to be loving and compassionate with yourself and cultivate this most important relationship. It will positively impact all your other relationships.
  • Weed the Garden: Pay attention to which people and energies you let into your life. Do they uplift you or drain your energy? Be discerning and make healthy choices for yourself, even if this means saying goodbye to certain people in your life.
  • Create New Habits: Add one new habit every month that supports a healthy and uplifting routine (foods, environment, or thoughts). We need to slowly train our brains to change old habits with new ones. It takes time and being consistent.

I hope these things can inspire you to show more kindness to yourself and create habits that will lead you to better health, creativity, and more joy. I am grateful for the beauty of each new day. I see it as an opportunity to create more magic with this one beautiful life experience we are all gifted with.
